I have type 2 diabetes and the clinic nurse keeps telling me I may need insulin injections soon because my sugar numbers are going up. My mahjong friend Uncle Fat say once you start the insulin needle, your body become addicted, you cannot ever stop again, and it mean the doctor already give up on you because it only for the last stage before dialysis and death. His neighbour try the needle one time then have to take more and more every year. So I tell the clinic I refuse the needle, and I secretly double my metformin pill by myself instead to keep the reading down. Last week I feel shaky and palpitate after morning walk, my home glucose machine show 3.9. Is the insulin injection really addictive and a death sentence, or should I stop fooling myself and listen to the clinic? How many metformin tablet I should really take a day?
